Greenwood Valley

Greenwood Valley is a large valley that covers much of northern Obseron. It is surrounded by mountains to the north, south, and east; the west, where the valley is the widest, faces the kingdom of Abadar. The fertile land was once a major breadbasket of the Aurean Empire, but since the empire's collapse the valley has been divided between a large number of petty warlords, with near constant fighting present in almost every scrap of land.
The valley was originally heavily forested, and much of it still is. The area was long home to a number of large elven kingdoms, whose centuries long conquest by the Aurean Empire was incredibly violent and destructive, and led to the destruction of most of the forest and the death or displacement of much of the elven population. Many of the remaining forested areas, largely on or near the slopes of the mountains to the north and south, are still predominantly populated by elves today.
