Thirty Years’ War
The Thirty Years’ War (2026 - 2056), also known as the Frozen Lander War of Independence, was a revolt of the many Frozen Lander clans inhabiting the fourteen islands of the Frozen Isles, against king Drurzèd III of Aventarle.
Occupation of the Frozen North
Through inheritance, marriage and conquest, the kingdom of Aventarle ruled over much territory on the north-western coast of the continent of Namda. This included what is currently western Imcri and several islands in the Northern Sea. In 2026, under the rule of king Drurzèd II, Aventarle spread further into the frozen north, conquering several of the islands.
At that time, the various clans inhabiting the islands of the Frozen Isles were not yet a united front. For many centuries they had warred against one another to claim the pieces of land which saw the snow melt during the warm seasons. While their technology and armies matched one another, the clans were no match for a kingdom such as Aventarle. In a few years time, six of the southern islands were occupied. At the sudden death of King Drurzèd II in 2032, the conquest abruptly stopped, however rule over the occupied Isles continued for several years before the Frozen Landers started to fight against their oppressors.

Six Silent Years
Upon the death of his father, Drurzèd III became sovereign of the six Frozen Isles. His vision for the Isles was limited. The production of okaplan heart stones was to be increased and the whaling industry expanded. The thing that interested Drurzèd III even more was the fabled perpetual ice, a substance that was said to grant mages clairvoyant abilities. However, this substance was to be found even further north than his territories. King Drurzèd III started to plan the continued conquest of the frozen north, but before the plan could be put into action the Frozen Landers revolted.
Revolt of the Frozen Landers
During the six years of invasion and even more so during the six silent years, the Frozen Lander clans increased communication and cooperation. The news of powerful invaders eventually spread all the way north to Pallar.
Treaties often existed between clans, but especially in eastern Pallar did clans live in a long era of peace. If conflict arose, the clan leaders would gather to attempt to resolve the conflict without violence. It was this small council that got into contact with the occupied southern clans, fearing the invaders from the mainland, especially after learning about Drurzèd III’s interest in perpetual ice.
The southern clans, now at peace and allied due to shared circumstances, formed a secret council, and with the unexpected help from the north renewed the fighting spirit of the Frozen Landers. Many more clans from all over the frozen north joined the union, and slowly but steadily, led by the Frozen Lander Union, the Frozen Landers reclaimed their land, pushing the occupiers all the way out of the frozen north.
