Ancestral Groves
The homeworlds of the Elves are large sprawling collections of temples, crypts, and sacred grounds. It is tradition in the Elven culture that when they die, their bodies can be taken back to the Ancestral Groves so that their memories can be saved and shared forever with their kin for centuries to come.
The countless crypts of the Ancestral Groves hold the bodies of generation after generation of Elves, dating back eons worth of memories and wisdom that has been shared down throughout the bloodlines of the Elves through their Ancestral Link practices. Due to this practice requiring the consuming of flesh, many of the bodies have been reduced to just bones, from their kin's relentless pursuit of forgotten knowledge that may have been held within their distant fading memories.
The Ancestral Groves also stand as a neutral ground for Elven families to meet and conduct business, briefly putting aside their family vendettas as they either try to make amends, find common cause for temporary cooperation, or worsen the hatred towards each other through subtle threats. No matter what they are there to do though, it is Elven law that no acts of animosity may be committed in these sacred grounds, as it is believed the spirits of their ancestors will not look kindly upon them for squabbling upon their ancestors graves, and to do so would bring their ancestors wrath down upon them.
