Orks

Orks…The universe is filled with so many strange things and towards the top of that list, sits Orks. Their constant expanding throughout the cosmos has lead The Flock to curb the number of the rapidly growing race, which has lead to many Orks rebelling. One of the many mysteries of this race is their origin, where they are not born, but actually grown from fungal spores. This creates a divide between Orks as the ones who haven’t fully grown get treated with little respect and are named Gretchins. Some Orks still stick to their traditional clan based culture, following the rule of their Warboss, while others attempt to carve their own paths in the ever changing universe. While some see the power of Orks as formidable, some say it’s all just scrap and stupidity...   These green skinned humanoids are both a marvel and a menace throughout the cosmos, always causing some form of chaos wherever they go. Their astounding willpower is truly a force to behold and despite their lack of Ork leadership and abundance of infighting, they seem to have spread across the stars just as rapidly as humans have.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Orks are comparable to the middle ground between humans and dwarfs in terms of size, with a tendency to be between the two in terms of height and stoutness. Another boon to the Orks is their large protruding teeth, which are used as a sign to show dominance over others whose teeth may not be as large. Orks have no gender or reproductive organs, as they are actually grown from spores. Nobody is really sure how this works, not even the Orks themselves, and they don't see any reason to question it.

Growth Rate & Stages

Orks have displayed two distinct stages of growth. From birth they are born as small skinny creatures called a Gretchin, comparable to green skinny gnomes. It is said that they stay at this small weak stage for an endless amount of time, until they build up enough willpower to want to "grow big" and in doing so, they will become a fully grown Ork, usually around 5'0"ft tall, called a Biggun. Little to no knowledge is known about the phenomena but it appears that they are able to "grow big" in accordance to their own ambition to grow. This may be connected to their ability to build through sheer willpower as well but it is not yet documented or confirmed in any evidence.

The larger or pointier the Teef, the more they are worth to Orks. Apart from this trade, Orks tend to show little to no diplomatic tendencies with each other, constantly fighting with each other over petty squabbles, or following the orders of a Big Boss.
