The Wild Docks

The Wild Docks is a section of the docks dedicated to fishermen and their monstrous catch. While every fisherman in Corvolas is happy to catch and sell grouper, tuna, swordfish and flounder, most fishermen in Corvolas are equally happy to brawl, and they see no reason not to pick a fight with the local sealife. Sea serpents, giant jellyfish, oversized fish, magical whales and the occasional baby kraken are all prey to the fishermen there. The Wild Docks are where these critters are sold, cut apart, and where the various components are sold to customers. Whether you are looking for spell components, alchemical materials or the rarest of cooking ingredients, the Wild Docks is all but guaranteed to have anything sourced from the sea. Some captains have become fabulously wealthy from sales made in the Wild Docks, such as Captain Gregorovich Ivanovo, who sold a Kraken’s Heart to Archwizard Dregoval for over one million gold pieces. The overwhelming majority of sales are less than one hundred gold, and are split between the crews. But the occasional windfall keeps a lot of crews working for that hopeful payday. Pirates tend not to bother the fishermen of the Wild Docks, because when they are caught by naval patrols they often claim to be hunting creatures for the docks. Of course, pirates are happy to claim the gold from selling a sea creatures corpse, and some of the fishermen are happy to seize and sell a poorly defended merchant.
