Temple of Procan
The last structure on the road west heading toward Seaton is the town's temple to Procan. High atop a cliff, it dominates the scene as if gazing out across the sea to survey the domain of the mighty god of storm and sea. Two bell towers, embossed with intricate carvings of crashing waves and roiling whirlpools abut the sides of the well-kept azure building. The town's cemetery stretches out behind it, what in most towns is a central place of reflection on the lives of loved-ones passed, seeming out-of-place next to this larger-than-life edifice dominating the surrounding landscape.
In the front of the temple, two large double doors depict the imposing figure of Procan prominently and showcase rich imagery of Procan's power. The door on the left shows the sea god slaying a mighty kraken, the symbol of the evil god Panzuriel that Procan was said to have banished long ago, the right shows him proudly wielding a seaweed-laden trident atop a mountain of riches. The doors open into a wide chamber lined with pews bearing other signs of Procan, such as anchors and storm clouds. At the end of the central aisle is a driftwood altar where carved images of Procan's children, the Velaeri, are shown prostrate offering riches to their titanic progenitor. A double row of circular columns, each painted with intricate oceanic motifs such as a ship cresting a wave, march down the middle of the chamber. A large basin near the doors is filled with saltwater to purify those who would come to worship. Though currently empty, the many pews show the popularity of the sea god with his worshippers, and at any time a novitiate can be seen maintaining the space to honor the mighty god. Behind doors on either side of the altar are offices for administration of the temple. Wellgar Brinehand ministers this temple.
