Scene: A Scout to Guide us
Lysander puts his hand to his mouth and makes a sequence of whistles. The copse undergrowth stirs and comes to life. Thickets and flowers turn and rise, and the hidden shapes of Nymphs rise. A curvy rhododendron Nymph steps forward to greet him.
"You have left your mother's side," she simply states.
"These travellers intend to loosen The Dark's grip on this forest. I intend help them in this endeavor." His shape is too vague to read, but his voice is strong and willfull. "I hope that you will look over her until I return."
"We shall," she answers. Her voice is soft and calming. Motherly. "The Dark will be no easy foe. Her influence spreads to plants, beasts and Scions alike, and her minions here are plenty. We do not know the source, but our bravest scout, Delphine, has seen signs. She will guide you." A taller, skinny nymph steps forward. Her thick long hair a dark shade of purple, her piercing eyes the same.
"I thank you, Bloom Mother," Lysander says, possibly bowing his head in respect, but it's hard to say. The plump leader then turns to us.
"I wish you strength on your quest, and I hope to see you all on your successful return." With those words, she gestures Delphine forward, while she and the other Nymphs lay down to once again become undergrowth.
"The Bloom Mother is risking everything trusting your intentions. I will do no such thing before I see your actions, but I will abide by her wishes," she starts with a firm voice. "A few days south of here I have witnessed what I believe to be an outpost. I have had no reason to go further in, fore the forest darkens there and the guards merge with the shadows. The guards there are Scotians as well as Chimeras." As she says the last part, her stern eyes turn to Kass carrying a silent threat. I don't know what annoys me more - this rude Nymph's need to voice her mistrust or how Lysander has simply been standing there, silently watching us during Delphine's tirade. Kass' dimming band still on his arm, solidifying him to a firm scion-shaped night sky gives us a better sense of his movements, but he is still an enigma.
"Then, please, lead the way, so that we may show our actions," I answer coldly, trying very hard to supress the instinct to knock her on her ass. She sends me a bland glance before walking between us and leading the way, and the forest should be thankful I at least am back to wearing my dimming band, or my anger had set everything in my vicinity ablaze.

Delphine stands tall in front of us. Not much taller than Zeldine, but she has a rigidity in her stance that demands respect. She looks us all over with cautious eyes.
