Cerust

Overview

Beasts that lie buried in the sand, leaving only their skull-like heads and jagged spines visible on the surface and emitting a smell like rotting meat. Cerust use this smell to attract scavenger prey, which is immediately ambushed, paralyzed with the neurotoxin in their stingers, and drained of fluids. Cerust have incredible water retention, allowing them to go for weeks without liquids.
