Zolot
Geography
Zolot has much deviation in biomes, from the elevated mesas with steep cliffs, and semi-arid deserts with plains and rolling hills, to jungles and marshes filled with vegetation and life.
Fauna & Flora
Animals that live in a semi-arid climate have adapted to the heat, small amounts of rainfall, and scarce vegetation. Just about all semi-arid vegetation is a moisture retaining plant such as a cacti and tall shrubs. many types of lizards thrive in semi-arid climates , especislly snakes, considering they are cold-blooded. their are also a few rodents that thrive in semi-arid climates by burrowing underground. Many birds also survive by living inside plants such as cacti and thorny trees. Plants include creosote bush, bur sage , white thorn, cat claw, mesquite, brittle bushes, lyciums, and jujube. Animals include: wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, gazelle, deer, and bison coyotes, jackals, hyenas, lions, and wolves.
More than half of the world's species of plants and animals are found in Zolot. Its rainforests support a very broad array of fauna, including mammals, reptiles, birds and invertebrates. Mammals may include primates, felids and other families. Reptiles include snakes, turtles, chameleons and other families; while birds include such families as vangidae and Cuculidae. Dozens of families of invertebrates are found in rainforests. Fungi are also very common in rainforest areas as they can feed on the decomposing remains of plants and animals.
The marshes crawl with hundreds of kinds of invertebrates, fish, and shrimp. Some mammals are drawn by the abundant seeds and leaves of the marsh plants, like mice, and rates, while coyotes and raccoons come to feed on them.
Natural Resources
The grounds of the deserts are rich with minerals, rocks, and some ore. The jungles provide a source of rubber, oils, gum, dyes, medicine, and food.
