Zenzikay
The Zenzikay are often confused with the Azettyzay since they developed out of them, they still retain many of their heritage. But they have developed a more martial culture. They originate from Zenzikayrel, a fortress which During the 3rd and 4th Metza gained a reputation of impenetrability. Communities formed around the fortress until the first Azeyzelan castles were built. They began conquering West, driving the Amblyn closer to the coast. The Zenzikay were the model for the rest of Azeyzela going into the 3rd Metza and home to the feudal system. Their caste system, while significantly eroded over the last Metza, still has a lingering effect. Their diet contains more lake and sea fish from both The Great Lakes and The Eye of Azeyzela, but more or less resembles that of the Azettyzayrans. Being warriors, they promote asceticism, and so they are known for having fairly bland cuisine. The Zenzikay were also known to be a fairly troublesome member of the Tar Jullel Union. in spite of the union's efforts to keep them at bay they would rise time and time again to demand concessions from the other member states, even winning in some cases. Groups outside of the Zenzikay-Azettyzay family tend to view them as troublesome. After the War of Bloodied Feathers, The Zenzikay were the leaders of counter-revolution against the Tykyrrians. The Sapphire Republic was named for their cultural symbol, The Sapphire Macuahuitl a ceremonial weapon held by their Aurdikaid. (Great Warrior) Given their warrior culture and the martial gender expectations placed on men in most Wyndelkyndian Societies, men were actually able to hold a fair amount of power in Zenzikay for much of their history.
