Imperial Colonial Charter
The official document to found a Decourean colony or gain colonial status for an independent settlement.
To obtain Imperial colonial charter, the headsmen must submit a petition to the Imperial Office, be able to pay the 500 gold establishment fee and propose a location for the colony. This fee purchases supplies for the colony to aid in success. The colony will also be assigned a servant of Allseas. Establishment fee can be waived if the headmen can verify a resource supply for twenty people to last three months, and a servant of Allseas signed on the voyage. This waiver is common for independent settlements apply for charter.
Significance
Holding this document deems a settlement as official Decourean colony, granting the colony Imperial protection. With the colonial status the colony is put on charts, included in trade and post routes, and will be able to collect Imperial taxes from colonists. This document entitles headsmen to request naval aid in event of attack, disaster aid, as well make the colony eligible for work assignments.
