Toracor

Toracor has a heavy/ruling orc population with some goblins who didn't want to travel further north to Downtrodden. It tends towards hardy individuals in large towns but normal farmer families fine to live under rulers they rarely see out in villages elsewhere for various races. Rock and Forest gnomes have a recovering refugee population that settled here a generation or two back along with in the other mentioned kingdom, fleeing racial persecutions in Arkenfeld far to the north.
The flag of Toracor is a Flaming Axe.

Structure

Orginized warlords serving under a grand chief who has authority over all clans with pleanty of regional governers to take care of infrastructer and help settle disputes. Those who live in the country but don't ahear to any of the clans or their traditions, just pay tribute or for protection, are called "Clanless" as are most visitors. Any race can start or join a clan, each with their own rules and heirarchies. While outright slavery is considered an insult, those who want the full protection and name of clans but do not strive to be a 'warrior' in them are at the bottom of the caste and treated more like property or chattel. Clanless, while left to their own, are often treated better but will not be offered the perks of being part of a clan (share of money, food when hungry, shelter, etc).

Culture

Warrior pride is what this culture is built on, at least as far as the clans are concerned. With wars waged against the Argentium Imperium to the south across the border river or against raiders from the north in the Lawless Lands warriors often have chances to prove themselves. Clans, unless the Grand Chief has called for peace in the land, even clash against eachother to test their strength and gain more influence. Most leave the clanless alone, by order of the Grand Chief, but sometimes the GC has allowed clans to bully them at their will.

History

Back in 3315 MC humans ruled small kingdoms occupied the lands north of the Minfiz river, working out their alliances against the Argenium on the other side of it. As such they often married off their children, typically princesses, to cement these alliances. One of these princesses was named Calipta. She never got to the kingdom she was meant for as she, her attendants, and guards were ambushed by an orc war band on the road. When she eventually became a full member of the clan she took the name Gavola the Flame Axe and began her campaign to unite the clans under a single banner. She stoked them to war with the kingdoms to the south and under her leadership over the clans formed the country of Toracor. The first Grand Chief. It is said she befriended a fire dragon by the name of Zelanie whom she would ride to battle. Some say the dragon is still in the country, watching for threats and willing to return of the grand chief ever needs her.
