Seeing Eye Slave Collars
In a world where talentet is forbidden, the sale price of inspired devices can become an attractor to scrupulous individuals. So, when the occasional member of free society loses the ability to see, why shouldn't they be able to turn to someone for aid? At least that was one entrepreneurial human thought when xe decided to alleviate these beings of their excess coin.
Seeing Eye Slave Collars are enchanted versions of conventional torq-and-tether contraptions used by the general populace when they're in public with slave attendants. The enchantment is simple in nature and permits one to see and hear using their slave's eyes and ears through the physical connection. The normal and enchanted versions of the device look and feel identical. Outside of magical means, only the perpetually faint (residual) scent of burnt charcoal and herbs could be used to discern if a torq-and-tether is enchanted.
Mechanics
When two creatures are physically connected through the torq-and-tether, the tether holder has the following ability. As an action, you can see through the eyes of the creature wearing the torq and hear what it hears until the start of your next turn, gaining the benefits of any special senses that it has. During this time, you are deaf and blind with regard to your own senses. The creature wearing the torq is not aware of any intrusion into their senses.
Access & Availability
With enough time and practice, Seeing Eye Slave Collars can be made by any user of talentet should they have access to the spell Find Familiar (or similar) and a standard slave torq-and-tether.
