It was my first time in the city. I figured I'd stop in for a snack haul before heading to our hotel. What I did not expect was an opossum wearing an orange bow around its neck lounging in a pet bed near the door.
"Oh, that's just Scimbles dear. He doesn't bite. Do come in before you let more cold air out."
I looked up to meet eyes with the brown tiefling running the register. Glancing back at Scrimbles, I let the door shut and began shopping, keeping the critter within my line of sight.
Located on a quiet corner near the market district is a small convenience store. It's owned by an older tiefling named Madame Morphedium and her pet opossum Scrimbles. Its two other employees are Jitters, a caffeine addicted kobold, and Carl, a grumpy middle aged human.
Appearance
The store is a small square building with large front windows full of snack displays. It has a white brick exterior with an image of Scrimbles painted on the sign over the entrance. A chime sounds when the door opens, but there is no visible bell.
The interior is full of well stocked shelves. Unlike other stores, there are no bright fluorescent lights. The Madame utilizes floating orbs set to a more pleasant, dimmer setting. Its color scheme is a mix of soft yellows and browns.
Stock
Scrimbles' Corner carries a variety of goods. There are coolers full of beverages and frozen items. The shelves house many snacks and small pharmacy items. One rack is dedicated to a selection of magazines and the local newspaper.
Along one wall is a counter where the coffee and slushie machines sit. Across from them are warming stations that hold hot prepared food items like hot dogs and pretzels. A stand alone cooler contains premade sandwiches. Fresh or custom ones may be ordered at the front counter.
Specific Items
Blorb-O's cereal
Phoenix bites
I want to go shopping here. Can I pet the opossum?

Hehe, I hold a bit of fondness towards convenience stores. Instead of the standard "bodega cat" I figured, why not, let's mix that up a bit. Sure, Scrimbles is very friendly c :
