Lewis Auznarr

Overview

Lewis Auznarr is a former naval pilot, mercenary, and mechanic. From 3188 to 3194, Auznarr, along with Kansas Vantara, worked for Prime Minister Margaret Croft and the Omicron Government as a bounty hunter. Auznarr played an essential role in ending the Allegiance War.

Early Life

Auznarr was born on Levos. His father, Byron Auznarr, died on a mission where he was piloting a group of scientists, and the ship was bombarded by radiation just a few months before Auznarr was born. He and his brother, Samuel "Sammy" Auznarr - along with a multitude of other children - were shipped off from Levos by their mother, Gedra Damarr, when Auznarr was just four years old. The radiation levels on the planet were thought to be reaching dangerous levels, so the lorav government ordered all lorav under the age of eighteen to leave. Auznarr and his brother never saw their mother again.
The two Auznarr brothers attended the Riel School of Knowledge. At the age of 15 in 3179, Auznarr the Riel and enlisted in the Omicron Navy where he showed great promise as a pilot.

Career

Omicron Navy

In 3182, Auznarr was assigned to the ONSS Kodiak, his first long-voyage posting under the command of Ovan Letarr. He proved to be a very competent pilot. Near the end of their two-year mission, Letarr led his ship and crew to save a group of hostages from the Black Hawks. Letarr was killed during the rescue mission, but Auznarr and his crewmates were able to save almost all of the hostages. Auznarr received a commendation for his heroism and a promotion to the rank of lieutenant. However, Auznarr left the navy right after.

Auznarr Mechanics

Auznarr moved to Aztlan in 3184 to work with his brother in a mechanic shop in the port. Once Auznarr arrived, his brother decided they should go into business for themselves, so they started the mechanic shop Auznarr Mechanics: You Break It, We Fix It! Auznarr worked at the shop until 3187 with his brother and their friend Drake Felder, until his brother went on the run.

Mercenary Work

Auznarr sold the business not long after when he was approached by Mike Palmer and Jared Haskil, two mercenaries who took pity on Auznarr's struggles to keep the shop open and keep food on the table. The two mercenaries were freelance and mostly did work for traders and merchants who wanted private protection when moving highly valuable goods that some people were willing to kill for. Auznarr ran with them for three years and the trio became good friends with Palmer and Haskil promising to keep an eye out for Sam Auznarr.

Bounty Hunting

In 3188, Prime Minister Croft reached out to Auznarr, asking him to work for her as a bounty hunter. Auznarr agreed and broke up his time between working for her and Palmer. By 3190, he left the mercenary life behind him and went to work full time for Croft. He, Kansas Vantara, and later, Iris Porter, worked for Croft until 3194 when the Allegiance War began.
It was during this time that he and Kansas Vantara saved Queen Ellishora Kellison's life.

Allegiance War

Auznarr severed in many different capacities during the Allegiance War. He helped oust both Theodore Beasley Raoul Vencherson in order to get Royal T. Flush into office. At Flush's inauguration, he promoted Auznarr to the rank of commander and assigned him and Kansas Vantara as his personal guards for a time. For the first part of the war, he, along with Vantara and Iris Porter, worked for Flush in capturing high-ranking texlors in order to interrogate them.
Auznarr is credited along with John Wolfe for creating the AC blaster, a weapon that helped give the allied species the upper hand against the texlors. Auznarr and his brother Sam helped set up the eldevian base on Felrev in 3195. Sam gets kidnapped by the sil and texlors and is experimented on. Kansas Vantara is able to free him, but it was too late. Lewis was forced to kill his brother to save him from a slow, painful death. Auznarr participated in the Battle of Yalren in which he and Vantara procured the locations of the texlor conversion facilities.
At several points throughout the war, Auznarr put his knowledge of ship mechanics to good use and help outfit many ships with tearer technology. He also piloted various ships, including the flagship of the navy, the ONSS Defender.
Auznarr was part of the team that effectively ended the war in 3197 when Vantara, Queen Ellishora Kellison, and himself were sent to Malum, the homeworld of the texlors. They were the only ones capable of stopping the texlors for good and were successful in their attempts, though Malum was destroyed in the process.
After the war, Auznarr returned to Levos to help rebuild.

Time Agency

In 3205, when Vex Dumar began tampering with time, Prime Minister Croft once again called upon Aunzarr and Vantara. He and Vantara traveled throughout Earth's ancient history to stop Dumar. During one of the adventures back to the 1920s, Auznarr had a final showoff between himself and Kade Andrews, who had been a crewman aboard the ONSS Kodiak and knew the truth about what really happened. Auznarr ended up pushing Andrews off the top of a ten-story building, finally stopping the threat against him and the others who had served aboard the Kodiak.

Return to the Navy

Auznarr returned to the navy in 3207 as a pilot, despite his rank of commander, thanks to some strings being pulled by both Rear Admiral Kansas Vantara and Admiral Kingsley. He stays a pilot for four years before he decides to take advantage of his rank and becomes the XO of the ONSS Claiborne. In 3213, he is promoted to captain and given command of the ship ONSS Julliard.

Auznarr met Alex Vantara in 3194 when he and Kansas Vanrtara rescued her along with the rest of the Red Chaser crew. The two began dating in 3195 and they married in 3207 after Auznarr was finished helping rebuild Levos and was finished with his mission to stop Vex Dumar and Teller Rane. They had three children together: Elizabeth, Amelia, and Maleron.
Auznarr had always had pretty terrible eyesight, but when Veta Montgomery brought him back to life on Kaddite in 3206, his vision was perfect.
Auznarr is credited with inventing many things, though most of his inventions were made for Kansas Vantara and are unique. These inventions include the hacker, an oil slick grenade, a force field disruptor, and a one-of-a-kind tracking scope made specifically for Mercy, Vantara's custom sniper rifle.
During his time with the Time Agency, Auznarr became addicted to the radiation cure like may did during the Allegiance War. He was treated once and thought to be alright, but the effects made themselves known a second time after their travels were finished. Doctor Grace Carter put him through the more extensive rehabilitation program that she and General Henson set up during the war.
