The Moon

The Moon is a celestial object that floats in a orbit around the planet Earth. With the first humans from NASA landing on it in 1969, Humanity has been living up on the moon since the 1990s in specialized structures designed to withstands the dangers of space. Colonized in part thanks to the combined efforts of the Deepcore Foundation, AEROCELL Communications, Roscosmos under the newly established Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and the United States Of Amercia's NASA Corporation all under the banner of the Global Space Program; the population living on the moon is composed of mostly a mix of Americans and Russians. However, after The Withering, there has been limited contact between those on the Moon and those back on Earth. Compounding this are the various dangers that are rising...

Geography

The moon is gray, completely covered in deposits made out of oxygen, silicon, iron and such. Alongside that however, the moon has Scarred Ash on the surface; located around the thousands upon thousands of craters that lie on the moon after decades of meteorites and other celestial objects hitting it. Located along what used to be the Mare Serenitatis and Mare Tranquillitatis seas is the newly formed Labyrinthian Echoes Sea. The amount of Scarred Ash within the area, as well as the dozens of Tears that can be found in the area, has rendered it incomprehensibly dark, no matter how much light is shined upon the area. The geometry of the Moon in various places has been altereted significantly due to the overtly-strong moonquakes and the Tears that have formed underneath the surface. It's estimated that come 2039, the Moon will collapse in on itself.

Despite efforts by those on the surviving colonies to figure out what is on the Moon after the occurence of The Withering and the formation of the Labyrinthian Echoes Sea; and despite the conditions outside of the colonies making it nigh impossible for life to survive in an airless; atmosphere-less enviroment, there have been several deaths reported due to unknown injury and destruction. It's relation to the destruction of the colonies is unknown.
