101 Bottles

101 bottles of rum, hey! Pass the bottle around, There's one for you and one for me, And now there's only...
"101 Bottles" (alternately known as "101 Bottles of Rum") is a Halfling folk song often sung while traveling and around campfires.
The exact beverage drunk in large quantities within the chorus of the song varies by the season: gin in the spring, rum in the summer, mead in the fall, and ale in the winter, although rum is sometimes used in the winter as well, depending on the occasion and the clan.   Verses of the song are sometimes added between choruses, each one giving a bottle to a different family member (or sometimes community member or family friend) and recalling a specific anecdote about them. When the song is sung in a large group, different people might chime in for each verse. Some clans have extremely specifically encoded versions of the song and take great offense at assigning a relative the wrong verse number. Others take the opposite approach, good-naturedly booing and mocking a singer who uses the same verse in two different rounds of the song.
