Halfling
A halfling is a species of short, hardy Humanoid descended from the Human during the Age of Anxiety (see: Ages of History).
Basic Information
Anatomy
Halflings have a similar general body shape to humans, but they are much smaller in stature-- typically between 3 and 4 feet. They tend to be plump and have a remarkable ability to hold on to body weight during food shortages. Their heads and feet are proportionally somewhat larger than humans', and the soles of their feet are tougher than that of humans or elves. They have a slight tendency to grow more and thicker body hair on their limbs that extends to the backs of their hands and the tops of their feet. Their ears are slightly pointed.
Ecology and Habitats
Halflings thrive best in low-lying temperate or subtropical climates. An intimate connection to fertile soil seems to help bolster their health and extend their lifespans.
Biological Cycle
Halflings live between 150 and 250 years.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
