Arakhi Rangatir'nghére translates in the Western Orokhimshe dialect to "high lord of the woods." It is an honorific title given to the most powerful Rangatira in the Western Woods, whose duty is to act as a faithful protector of the woods and the circles around them.

An Arakhi Rangatir'nghere is promoted by three-quarters' consensus of the Kháivara Conclave, something that often takes weeks or months of continual argument from the conclave. They must be re-affirmed at the beginning of every conclave meeting. It is considered wildly taboo to object to an Arakhi Rangatir'nghere's continual rule without strong reason, and those who make frivolous claims against the sitting Arakhi Rangatir'nghere may be expelled from the council
