Draxhaven
Draxhaven is the land between Erdelan and Scalados. It is largely unpopulated and ruled by Dragon and Giant societies, who feud constantly. It is also the ancestral birthplace of the Dragonborn.
Known humanoid populations in the region are sparse, concentrated within just a few valleys. Life for these villages is difficult and heavily reliant on subsistence herding, farming, and hunting. Those from the region who have left for civilization describe the villages as culturally and technologically several centuries behind the rest of the known world, more similar to Terrónsta than to anywhere else. Rumors abound of the highly magical hidden cities of the dragonborn, but no concrete evidence of their location or even existence is known to sages in the rest of the world. However, Dodiöu Réijmí is thought to exist somewhere in the southwestern reaches of Draxhaven.
Geography
Draxhaven lies across the most mountainous region of Belcantas, taking up much of the high central portion of the Blue Mountains. The tallest of these mountain peaks are believed to be at least twenty thousand feet above sea level.
Ecosystem
The lower valleys of Draxhaven are marked by particularly rich mineral soil that supports abundant plant life. This, in turn, supports many large herbivore species within the valleys and the lower reaches of the mountains, including rare varieties of deer, elk, and goats not found anywhere else in the world. These fauna serve as most of the diet for the dragons and giants of the region, though these beings also feed on various magical and elemental energies. High alpine peaks have sparser life, though these tend to be the preferred roosting habitats for most of the region's dragons as well as the stone and cloud giants.
