Dodiöu Réijmí
Dodiöu Réijmí is a tiny city-state located at the southeastern edge of Draxhaven, two days' travel from the Erdelan border. It is a hub for Gnomish, Orokhim, and Dragonborn inventors and home to some of the most impressive technology in the known world.
The name Dodiöu Réijmí comes from the Gnomish for "sleeping Dragon."
Little is known to the outside world about Dodiöu Réijmí. The city has few visitors due to its dangerous, hidden-away location and the careful guarding of its secrets by leadership. Materials are imported into the city through the Dragogora, a battalion of Orokh soldiers who keep the city and its location private.
Defences
Besides the city's tough surrounding terrain and nearly unknown location, its main defense force is the Dragogora. This is a fierce guard of Orokh soldiers that controls all trades with the city and any visitors who travel to and from it.
History
According to legend, when Saint Ilga brought the light of Prometheus to the first Orokhim tribes, one of those tribes chose to carry it into the mountains of Draxhaven, in order to settle lands they previously could not have braved. They were able to reach further into the mountains than they previously could, but still encountered the Giant and Dragon lands blocking their way. Unable to go forward but too proud to retreat, the tribe settled in the mountain caves near the mouth of the Lüdda River. They swore they would protect and nurture the light in isolation, staying until they could make it powerful enough to shine throughout the planes.
The tribe grew, and carved their city from the marble deep within the mountain they had chosen. They took in refugees from the Dragonborn lands to the north, and shared discoveries wtih the Gnomish tribes that floated up and down the Lüdda when the waters were high. The resourcefulness and inventiveness of the three peoples of Dodiöu Réijmí allowed them to thrive during the Age of Anxiety even as most other mortals struggled.
As the Age of Integrity began and the surrounding nations could focus on goals beyond survival, Dwarven scouts from Erdelan discovered the city. They were welcomed as warmly as the dragonborn and gnomes had been, until the kingdom of Erdelan tried to gain control of the city to expand its territory. The subsequent Skårlanvuori War (literally, "red-on-mountains war") was terrible and bloody, with the dwarven kingdom suffering heavy losses from the advanced Dodiöu Réijmí war machines and their Orokhim and Metallic Dragon allies.
Despite their victory, the people of Dodiöu Réijmí no longer wanted to accept outsiders into their city. The Dragogora were founded in Y39 ITG, and have kept all but the most carefully chosen outsiders away from the city.
Architecture
Many of the buildings are carved from the travertine stone of the mountain on which it is built. Taller and newer buildings tend to be made of glass, marble from neighboring mountains, or imported lumber. Glass is used far more extensively here than in the architecture of other cities, as seen in buildings like the Library of Bahamut and the Promethean Spire.
Natural Resources
The city sits atop the confluence of over a dozen ley lines that run south from the Elemental Plane of Earth and through the lands of Erdelan and Draxhaven, giving it more inherent magical power than even Cantonova.
The mountain on which Dodiöu Réijmí is built is made of travertine, a valuable building material. 97% of the mined travertine in the city remains within its borders and is used primarily for construction; what little of it is exported is incredibly valuable and even rumored to have magical properties.
