Three Treasures of Scala
The Three Treasures of Scala are a set of sacred objects entrusted to the possession of the Valòmar during the Coronation of the Valòmar. They are believed to have belonged to Scala I, the first ruler of Scalados. The three treasures are a sword, a stone orb, and a diadem. No one but the Valòmar and the Lebemnë are allowed to see the three treasures. The central setting of the diadem and the scabbard and handle of the sword are the only parts visible to the public, since they are part of the Valòmar's ceremonial regalia. Depictions of the three treasures are taboo in elven art.
"And so the world began to calm as the six gods listened. At once Queen Scala felt upon her head the weight of the diadem, held in one hand the sword of righteous energy and in the other the brilliant orb. And on the mountain, the gods gathered, and spoke."The diadem features a central black diamond ringed by white pearls, all set in platinum. The rest of the diadem's appearance is unknown, as only the central setting is typically visible beneath the Valòmar's veil. The sword has the curved shape of a traditional wood elven katana. It is said to be the foundational example of Elven Swordmaking. Several of the oldest and most legendary elven swords claim to have been inspired by it, as their makers were guided by the hands of a Lebëmya. The orb is a piece from the mountain where Saint Scala originally made her pilgrimage to pray to the Wild Gods, and was handed down from her to her successor. It sits on a pedestal at the top of the Taras Telumë. It is said to be a pure white marble without imperfections, and it shows the Valòmar visions of the gods' will for the people of Scalados.
Significance
The three treasures represent the three Elvish elements: the diadem represents nwyfre, the sword represents gwyar, and the stone orb represents calas. As a whole, they also represent the divine blessing of the Wild Dynasty's gods upon the Valòmar and the land of Scalados.
