Hanibal Souflou is a big player in the business world of the Saltor Sea Harbor. He manages the routes of fourteen ships - four fishing vessels and ten trade ships - and has made his name for always being up to date on the newest technology, the latest uncontested fishing spots, and the newest requested wares. Lately, he has played a key role in supplying Wasburg with the necessary parts to build their own submarines.

Souflou is an agile man in his 50s, with black skin, broad features, and an angular face. His right eye is replaced with a never-tiring mechanical eye, and his right hand with a never-tiring mechanical hand, each of which preventing stress from manual paper-work.
Special abilities
Souflou's right hand and eye are never-tiring mechanical objects, which allows him to even notice movement when asleep. Besides, it is also secretly a clairvoyant eye, allowing him to notice illusions - but not discern their true form - and see a faint aura around strong sources of magic.

Personal history
Hanibal was raised in a rice farm a few kilometers outside of Saltor. He used to tinker with the farm tools to make them more efficient; for example, he designed the first steam-powered multi-lane plow. When speaking to a traveler from Wasburg, he noticed that other places have far less access to steam engines, gears, clockwork tools, and other technological equipment. At the age of 25, he started to organize export ships for technology to all of Ekura, until, at the age of 32, he acquired his own ship. His business only grew ever since.
Hanibal Souflou has been a frequent guest in the Politarium for 17 years, since he was 39 years old.
Morality & Philosophy
Hanibal Souflou believes strongly, that technology can make lives easier and more relaxed, and that it will eventually replace all manual labor. He believes that the people of Saltor are on the right track toward that goal already, and is putting expressed effort into bringing this vision to the rest of Ekura as well.
Souflou believes in natural laziness and sympathizes with people who work no more than absolutely necessary. Thus, he is generous with reward for a job well done, and gets suspicious of people who ask nothing in return.
