Lord-Orator Antisophor

"Is learning Common too difficult for you simpletons? How sad... If only I could care less."
A passive-aggressive remark attributed to Antisophor.
A brilliant and snarky intellectual from the 4th Imperial Century. As the Lord-Orator of his time, he almost single-handedly adapted the Common Imperial language to better unify the tongues spoken within his Empire.

Personal history

Antisophor was the son of the previous Lord-Orator and excelled at administration, foreign language and writing. He worked alongside his father often and accompanied his representatives as an aid to various Imperial ambassadors in the Crescent Basin.   Antisophor was known for his disdain of French and English as a vulgar and contradictory languages fit for uneducated barbarians. But that didn't stop him from admitting when some of their aspects helped with their simplicities. Years after his rise to his father's position, he used his knowledge to integrate much of these foreign phrase structures Common Imperial. He also created some frustrating details but such oddities do not diminish the reliability of his work.
