There is an order to things, even among children. The young denizens of the Red Citadel can be labelled under four categories. The first are the Ducks. The second are the Reeds who are often mere bystanders; not brittle enough to be a target, not violent enough to deserve attention. The third are the Fishes, the targets, the victims. In the eyes of upper-graduates, most Newmoons are Fishes ready to be gutted and promote a full-fledged Duck. As for a Newmoon hailing from a different City-State, they better sprout fins, jump in the Blemac and swim back home as soon as possible before the local hospitality takes care of them.
