Labris
The labris are a canine race of bipedal mammals, from planet Cylonis. They roughly resemble a spectrum of dogs from Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and sometimes Dalmatians or collie hybrids. They essentially have elongated snouts, larger floppy ears, mid-short curled tails, and sometimes grow their fur out in a woolly way. They are potentially energetic, but also easily distracted, and many can be found lazy or unfocused. However they've held a large part of their society together by enforcing a policy of manual delivered mail and services, while more simpler workers, office people, or slackers are often more reclined when they're not busy. The OA considers them a Vahakin class on the CDAM scale. They can be found mostly on their own homeworld, but do show up in spots assisting multi-race space stations, very cheap (unreliable) mercenary soldier work, and occasional surveillance teams or contractors to do on-foot delivery where technical issues have cropped up.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Floppy ears, mid-length tails that are pointy and curl, long snouts with soft tips and wet noses, covered in fur and a basic bipedal anatomy. Fur may grow somewhat 'wooly' depending on genetics, becoming thick, dense and draping. At the very least its common along tails if not trimmed. Their fur colorations may vary greatly from white, blondes, blacks, browns, reds, and spots or splotches. However despite their dog-like reputations, they are only resembling a few breeds. Their ears and snouts are never sharp-angled, and their tails never stubs nor wolfish. If they ever saw an actual domestic pug, or pomeranian, it would be as alien to them as a ryclin or an izgoren, and they claim no relation to races like the jisuki, lunaki, or korjexin.
Genetics and Reproduction
By a very large average, labrises tend to give birth in sets of triplet litters. A female may become pregnant for 7-9 months after being mounted by a male. Often brighter fur tones are actually quite dominant in the litter, making much of the species some form of white or golden-brown in colors, but splotches and spots are very common from more mixed breeding. Usually in a family with a fully black parent, there will be at least one puppy 80% of that color even if most of the rest barely have more than a spot or splotch.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Labrises are well-known omnivores, and will truly find ways to consume anything of ease. This includes chocolate, although their favorites sweats are more in fluffy breads like forms of cakes, pies, or donuts. They love burgers, sandwiches, pork, vyllk, salads, deep fried goods, etc. Likewise their drink is endless from teas, sodas, beers, wines, etc. They aren't picky eaters and won't understand the concept of someone choosing veganism or select diets, however because of their voracious appetites and wider alien technologies, there are select bans for say couriers to purchase much from Nugget's Queen - of which otherwise their society has an abundance of easy access to such locations. A labris out of their work routine or entertainment will tend to feel 'hungry' regardless of their last meal, as they also lack the neurology to feel completely satiated and full as well. Their short attentions must always be occupied, and sometimes with the TV having their mind, food is the easiest physical activity to enjoy with it. This tends to lead to situations where white collared workers and even slower blue collared jobs have an obese or chunky population. Most people that aren't runners, or quit running, tend to grow fat whereas runners themselves may give the false impression of being one of the healthiest races.

Taken in slow fields, or removed from active ones, they quickly get cozy and fat.

Average Intelligence
Capable, but often easily distracted and come off as quite dim to most other races. However they know how to travel, fly, engineer, and program all if they were raised around it.

Common Etiquette Rules
They exhibit a lot of dogish behaviors. They tend to find themselves desiring to catch flung objects, easily distracted by sounds, barking aggressively at things they don't like, and gestures like tail-wagging. However unlike a species such as lunaki or even ryclins, belly-rubs are considered more a strict measure between family or close relation types, and a more rude gesture when applied abroad.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
They tend to co-exist closest with tikerin and vyllk. Tikerin have started visiting and propping up small vacation homes, with a few renting or staying. Vyllk have had earlier roots in the labris homeworld bearing an early ancient rift trading station for them, and they've encroached in with exports, and a large media presence. It is also suggested the Cauven army is responsible for some emergency defense on the planet.

Often a polarized dynamic between limber and toned gymnastic runners, and fat beer-bellied couch potato types. Very few hold any balance in-between.
