Warrior Poets
The Warrior Poets are a larger Vanguard team, composed of nine members with nearly each being a different species. One exception came upon a newer member sign-up, and their second lionkin, Shaun. They share a unified 'home' base on Cauven, using an older large Cossi temple that was retired from traditional service. One of the members, Viiqa, has family ties to active monks and is tasked to still honor and care for it, whilst on the whole the team comes and goes across a diverse and sometimes challenging set of gaurdian jobs across the omniverse.
Their talents are greatly mixed, and encompass even some bizarre sides most of the Vanguard doesn't see such as a fhyrg, and a tivaxan raised tigran. However they are not as 'high leveled' in raw power as some oddities may be like the zeanite-focused Team Tsuyu. Some members in fact lack many direct confrontational abilities, and make up more by supportive duties, spirit, or acquired knowledge and experiences.
Members Include
Cergo: Captain of the team. Human-Orc of Starcroft universe descent. He carries a large sense of pride and honor, and admires literal and moral strength to a great degree. However he has been said to have an occasional drinking problem, and occasionally makes poor decisions under that influence. He has greenish skin, and doesn't often wear a wig over the circumstances of pelts, and favors skins of boarian feeling they represent a sort of "potentially oppressed but resilient sort, where true strength prevails over playing the victim" and wishes to further bring them honor by wearing their hide in battle. He always carries his sword, but often uses full-auto guns, reserving melee for the chance of enemies that would meet him on similar grounds. Viiqa: Vyllk from Cauven, sometimes going by Vee. White feathers, yellow beak, with cascading blue highlights with tips of gold on the tail, and sapphire markings under the eye. She sometimes applies gold make-up and peach blush if she feels she's going anywhere friendly. She's had a long history, growing up under religious parents, and finding her calling to experiment across Color Dancing industries and later called to the heroic tasks of Vanguard. An earlier team member, and an enhanced technology expert, she inherits the temple she shelters the team at, and serves to help communicate missions and coordination for the team. As such she's virtually the second in command. She tends to use blasters and the koovrot sword for enemy encounters. Shaun: A white lionkin with dark green eyes. Rejected from his native family, he became a serf to the Oakfel clan on Felyra. Cergo saw his interest in valor and justice, and bought him from the mane-lord to become a Vanguard recruit. Shaun exhibits a natural curiosity and alienation to most of the world, but is interested to learn and improve. He's quick to train well with a variation of pistols, and easily adaptive to many other methods, while poor with mastering any. Despite this, he has some juvenile Felyran nature his vigilantism can't escape. He tends to be horny around females, even quickly escalating an unintended flirt with a Labris on his first mission. Likewise he sometimes struggles to limit his sense of goals or deeds while on a mission, and while his desire of justice is appreciated, it tends to sometimes be his potential downfall or mislead him or disturb him to fail. Gregg: A Tivaxen Tigiren, described with a more usual pale orange color of fur in his pelt. He has emerald-green eyes, and postures as looking older than he may be. Often wearing a green tied waist robe and pants with golden trim, he tends to seem casual and reserved. However raised close to k'siiva imperialism, he is highly skilled in sensing and depleting aura and energy, and can strike in a combat style almost comparable with acupuncture. He's just as skilled with many of the same ranged weapons Shaun learns, and may provide light gunfire, and is very disciplined in his temper, emotions, and ability to assess problems. In other circumstances, he's handy with struggling and hurt innocents, and can serve as a medical aid (or in averse instances, an interrogator). Deyha: A rare Orvani dorva, while exhibiting a long travel history. Joined Vanguard after her employment at Pie Princess turned hostile. She has black horns, darker coffee-brown fur with hints of red, and white markings under her eyes. Tends to dress close to her tribal origins, often seen in a long loin cloth and crop top made from animal hide. She is motivated in part by a native phrase Gwuar'She: Turning something bad into good. She flaunts a positive spirit, and generally tries to be more about seeking kindness. She is a very supportive and a 'fluid-experience' thinker, lax on ideals with even abstract faith and sexuality - as such she tends to be the sympathetic bridge between the team's odd quirks. She isn't much of a strong fighter, but is still physically quite fit and enduring, often an easy choice for when someone fast and efficient needs to run errands or word across. Lashda: A Tauren Cow, somewhat traditionally white with brown spotty colors. Tends to wear what some best describe as armor-clad overalls with an undershirt. She has a short mane and set of horns, but tall stature. She was raised in a more civic town with a satyr population, and taught to fight her more basic and primal mind and instincts, ignoring impulses to eat trash or carelessly breed. As such, she worked more on the positive enforcement of being strong and self-defensive, and over time felt a calling to do more for the world itself and bring that power to justice. BIG tends to describe her team attribute. Lumbering, muscular power-house, and sometimes a bit too flabby, but stands to prove there's no 'paunch' without the word 'punch'. Her brute force allows her to be the best at direct assaults, and she will occasionally bring massive power guns, or at least be tenacious in her melee with a trusty motor-hammer always with her. Vanguard Krow: Best described as fortunate & lucky as much as it is confusing as to how a fhyrg ended up in the Vanguard, but he's passionate enough that his modern identity is forged in it. At his core, he is just sapient gas housing in a spherical bowl for a "head", and pilots a small body suit that often dresses a bit like a dark scarecrow where the second half of his name is derived from. In addition to not feeling unwilling harm, and operating his synthetic body past other's threshold, he can also seep out and incorporate himself into other interfaces, almost becoming a sort of phantom alien hacker. However he is also the most difficult and alien to communicate and strategize with, sometimes becoming his own team obstacle. Sarah: Another lioness from Felyra, blonde-furred with chartreus eyes. However she was born more from a higher standing, and simply found the place itself lacking, and joined in from a Vanguard sector of the region. She wanted to do better, and 'earn more' as a warrior. Unfortunately for Shaun she's not interested, and tends to sport a pouncer suit and upgraded militant tactics. She's diverse with her weaponset, but often poor with much else. She's not a deep thinker, a bit grumpy while keeping things practical. Rosli: A green & azure ryclin from a former solavore career. She is born into aquatic modification, having the ability and drive to swim. She's a bit of a glutton that loves to eat, however she's reformed her initial path away from bounties, to represent a desire to only devour the evil and unjust. As such she's more prepared and used to jobs seeking a guilty person. Her water accessible nature also leads her to move well in those environments, or take unconventional methods. However as she'll eat all she can, she is warned like Lashda to watch her weight. She'll still attack with conventional solavore gear, using blaster, staff, and ziighorite armor to good effect. Like many ryclin, she tends to be energetic, and exudes herself as a friendly but powerful 'monster' among the team.
