Village of Flowing Blades

In many lands, combat is viewed differently: some see it as an art, a profession, or simply as recreation. However, in the Village of Flowing Blades, combat has a set purpose. It is a means to demonstrate power, defend, protect, and attack. Instead of engaging neighboring settlements, warriors embark on raids into the perilous Red Wastes. When deemed ready, a warrior undertakes a solitary journey to The Sparking Form Village, where they acquire a weapon before facing an adversary in the Red Wastes. Leadership in the village is singular and open to challenge by any resident. The challenger must beat the incumbent leader in a comprehensive trial of mind, body, and spirit, encompassing strategic acumen, governance, and moral discernment. Physical trials vary, from combat to a test of strength and even magical fortitude. The exact nature of these trials remains shrouded, with methods ranging from rigorous to enigmatic. At present, Jing-Maru holds the mantle of leadership in the village.
