His power has seeped into the ruling body of the vast conclave of merchant guilds so that the ability to double cross your enemy is built into their very government. After Bahamut began teaching the elves magic, Zahak publicly announced his decision to leave the mortal world and simply disappeared. The Houses turned to worshipping him as a god and believe he still speaks to his chosen followers through whispers and shadow.
