Order of Alerio
The Order of Alerio is a millitant religious order dedicated to safeguarding the artifacts of Alerio, and identifying and heralding the return of Alerio reborn. Despite their military strength and influence, the Order remains neutral in the wars of The Imperial League's successor states, claiming that they are awaiting a sign from Alerio that will designate the rightful inheritor of the Imperial Mandate.
The Order of Alerio, while officially dedicated to safeguarding the artifacts of Alerio and identifying his prophesied rebirth, has been known to engage in extrajudicial actions aimed at suppressing perceived Elven influence within the regions where it operates. This aspect of the Order’s activities is often carried out under the guise of protecting Alerio’s legacy, but it frequently extends into aggressive measures taken against Elven culture, individuals, and sympathisers.
Structure
The organisational structure of the Order is divided into two branches, the millitant arm led by Archpaladin Marco de Calvis, and the theological arm, led by High Priestess Lisabetta Falier.
Militaris Ordo
The Militaris Ordo is commanded by an Archpaladin, whom is responsible for training, equipping and leading the Order's martial forces. The Order Millitant's primary role is to safeguard the artifacts of Alerio, and protect the divinity and legacy of Alerio. In the event of sacrilege committed against artifacts of Alerio, or images of his likeness, the Order has been known to dispatch a troop of paladins to purge the heretics responsible.
Fidem Ordo
The Fidem Ordo is responsible for preserving Alerio's artifacts, and investigating claims of his rebirth. Hundreds of claims of Alerio reborn are submitted to the Order each year, and each claim is thoroughly vetted to ensure that Imperator Alerio can be identified quickly upon his return. In cases of blatant fabrication, the matter is often referred to the Militaris Ordo.
Chapters
The Order is divided into several regional chapters, each operating semi-independently under the guidance of a Chapter Master. These chapters are spread across various territories, including:
• Kingdom of Upper Siar
• Velvet Coast City-States
• Grand Duchy of Novaya
Chapter Structure
Each regional chapter consists of:
• Chapter Master: A senior paladin or priest appointed by the central leadership to oversee the chapter’s operations.
• Militaris Cells: Units of paladins and initiates responsible for local defense, protection of artifacts, and enforcement of sacred laws.
• Fidem Circles: Groups of clerics and scholars dedicated to theological studies, artifact preservation, and investigation of claims regarding Alerio’s rebirth.

History
The Order of Alerio was founded in 13 IE, in the turbulent aftermath of the Devastation of Skyreach and the ensuing chaos of the Imperial Civil War. Established by devoted followers of Alerio—the legendary leader who united humanity during the Human Rebellion against the Elven kingdoms—the Order sought to preserve his legacy and prepare for his prophesied return. Recognising the need for spiritual guidance and protection of sacred artifacts in a fragmented world, the Order quickly grew in influence and reach.
To effectively manage their widespread influence, the Order established semi-independent regional chapters across Orienta. These chapters operated under the central leadership based on Fortis Isle but had autonomy to adapt to local contexts. This structure allowed the Order to maintain a significant presence in various regions, including the Kingdom of Upper Siar, the Grand Duchy of Novaya, and the Velvet Coast city-states. Throughout these areas, they pursued their mission while navigating the complexities of local cultures and politics.
Despite their spiritual objectives, the Order became known for extrajudicial actions aimed at suppressing perceived Elven influence within the regions they operated. Motivated by historical grievances from the Elven Age and a doctrine that viewed Elven culture as corrupting, the Order engaged in raids, confiscated artifacts, and targeted individuals associated with Elven traditions. This aggressive stance led to strained relationships with entities like the Silvertower Republic, who held a more sympathetic view towards Elven culture.
In Mevania, the Order found a cooperative environment, aligning with the city's deep-seated prejudice against Elves and Half-Elves. Their actions were openly supported by Mevanian authorities, leading to coordinated efforts to eradicate Elven influence.
Within the Kingdom of Upper Siar, the Order held a significant yet complex presence. They worked alongside nobles to promote unification and honor Alerio's legacy, but often navigated tensions with the traditional Siar Clansmen, who valued their independence and cultural practices. The Order's initiatives included safeguarding artifacts, offering educational programs, and engaging in community efforts, though they sometimes faced resistance from locals wary of external influence.
By 201 IE, the Order of Alerio remained a formidable force dedicated to preserving Alerio's legacy and anticipating his return.
