Aerosophyronos (Air-ro-so-feer-ron-nose)
It is said that those who wish to safely weather the storm need only find it's center, it's eye, for it is there that a ship can stay safe from the ravaging winds.
Tales of the Sea
by First Mate Conch
Legends are told of the great hurricanes that once wailed against long forgotten shores, slowly wearing the rocks into sand and pulling them into the depths. Each year the storm throws itself against its confines, seeking to extend its authority. Each year it eventually gave up, diminished in power, to return to the safety above the sea, leaving behind the carnage of its wrath in destroyed cities and landscapes.
The Clouds wracked ever higher above us, like a dam about to give, like an anvil to smote us down.

It is said that the storm eventually grew bored with such destruction and decided to help in constructing great instruments to build up the races. It is also said that the storm was tricked into submission. In either case, the storm was encased and trapped for millennia, held deep beneath the earth. The great storms of the surface slowly weakened as the one storm diminished and faded. Trapped in a fortressed, held slave for years until even its masters fell to dust in their mortal wars, Aerosophyronos decayed.
Just as lightning cannot truly be harnessed, a storm cannot forever be contained.
After millennia in the dark new lifeforms broke their way into the prison. They shattered the glass containing the storm and set Aerosophyronos free to once more rage in the Sea of Storms and open the gates to the Circle of the Air.
