Matr, God of Agriculture
God of Agriculture
"Well, maybe if he didn't scare me so bad while I was reading a book on polymorphy, we wouldn't have this problem!"
-Celstine, Goddess of Magic
"I sneezed. She knew i was there too."
-Matr, God of Agriculture
Not much is known about Matr's past. He is the god of Agriculture, and as such controls the seasons, fertility of land, etc. It is also well know that Matr is a serious prankster, and loves a good laugh. His normal figure is that of a firbolg, but many years ago he accidentally spooked Celestine. This caused her to accidentally unleash a powerful spell that she still to this day has not figured out how to unwork. No one really knows what spell was cast, but Celestine is still working on it.

Holidays
One day long ago Matr stole the moon from the god meant to look over it. He then put the moon in front of the sun for a whole day. While the land was covered by the shadow farmers decided that it was a day off. So now every two months, Matr puts the moon in front of the sun and farmers drink, rejoice and party until the next day.

Personal history
While not much of Matr's past is known, we know for certain that he enjoys chaos. It is said long ago that Matr had full control of the seasons, and would change them based on his mood. So within a few hours the temperature could have changed drastically, and this was not good for wildlife. Another god confronted him about this and put an end to the chaos seasons. Some speculate he lost control of the seasons while others say that he still has control, but has to keep it constant.
It is not uncommon for Matr to take interest in mortal affairs. It is rumored that a kobold tribe on the island nicknamed "Dragonplace" meet with him every winter. There are also occasional sightings and reports of usually aggressive creatures talking or even helping passerby. Neither of these have been confirmed by a credible source.
