Morrism

Morrism, the dominant faith of the King Mordred, is a grim and unyielding religion centered on the worship of Morr- God of Blood. Revered as the "Lord of Murder," "Eater of Millions," and the "Consumer of Souls," Morr's influence permeates every aspect of Mordredian life. This faith emerged alongside the rise of King Mordred, who effectively eradicated the old beliefs of Astaroth and instilled a new, bloodthirsty devotion among his people.

At the core of Morrism is the belief that bloodshed and death are not only inevitable but essential for the continuation of life and the empowerment of Morr. Worshippers are expected to spill blood and make sacrifices regularly, believing that each drop of blood spilled in Morr's name strengthens him and, by extension, the kingdom. This sacrificial aspect of the faith is most evident in the rituals performed by the Church of Morr, which holds significant power within the kingdom.

The Church of Morr is the third highest authority in Mordred, following only the king and his elite knights. It orchestrates grand ceremonies involving blood sacrifices, often conducted on altars adorned with bones and skulls, drenched in blood or red paint. Priests of Morr lead these ceremonies, donning black and blood-red robes, often wearing skulls as part of their attire to signify their devotion and favor from Morr.

Morr's symbol, an X-shaped rune, is ubiquitous in Mordred. Followers adorn themselves with this symbol, often incorporating skulls and bones into their clothing and armor. The faithful believe that taking heads in battle and wearing them as trophies brings Morr's favor, making these gruesome adornments a common sight.

Morrism places a heavy emphasis on martial prowess and the glory of combat. Warriors are the primary adherents, though anyone willing to kill without hesitation can earn Morr's blessings. The faith has no designated holy days, but followers often mark the anniversaries of bloody battles with fervent celebrations, viewing these days as sacred in their own right.

Animals associated with Morr are those that embody his ravenous and bloodthirsty nature, such as fearsome hunting dogs and powerful mastiffs. These creatures are sometimes driven into battle ahead of Morr's armies, though more often they are sacrificed to honor the Blood God.
