Church of Morr

The Church of Morr, integral to the King Mordred, wields significant influence and power as the chief religious institution dedicated to the worship of Morr- God of Blood. It is not merely a place of worship but a crucial apparatus in the propagation of Morrism, the state religion that dominates every aspect of life in Mordred.

At the top of the Church's hierarchy are the High Priests of Morr, who are seen as the direct voices of Morr himself. These individuals, shrouded in mystery and revered for their unwavering devotion, lead the grand ceremonies and rituals that form the backbone of Morrism. Their attire is a striking mix of black and blood-red robes, often adorned with skulls and bones, symbolizing their closeness to the divine and their role as conduits of Morr's will.

The Church's main functions include conducting blood sacrifices, leading public worship, and spreading the doctrines of Morrism. Blood sacrifices are the most prominent and grisly aspect of the Church's rituals. These ceremonies often involve elaborate altars piled with bones and drenched in blood, either from freshly slain animals or enemies captured in battle. The faithful believe that these sacrifices directly feed Morr's power and bring his favor upon the kingdom.

Public worship in the Church of Morr is intense and fervent. The faithful gather in grand temples, which are imposing structures adorned with symbols of Morr. The interiors are dark and foreboding, with altars at the center, stained perpetually with blood from countless sacrifices. The air is often filled with the smell of blood and incense, creating an atmosphere of dread and reverence.

The Church is also the primary vehicle for the propagation of Morrism's doctrines. Priests and missionaries travel throughout the kingdom, preaching the importance of bloodshed, sacrifice, and unyielding loyalty to Morr and King Mordred. They work tirelessly to convert any remaining adherents of the old faith and to ensure that the teachings of Morr reach every corner of the kingdom.

Propaganda is another critical role of the Church. Through sermons, public declarations, and written texts, the Church of Morr reinforces the warlike and sacrificial ethos of Morrism. It glorifies war, death, and sacrifice, instilling a sense of duty and zeal among the populace. The Church also plays a crucial role in maintaining the loyalty of the people to King Mordred, often portraying him as Morr's chosen ruler.

Despite its grim nature, the Church of Morr provides a unifying and stabilizing force within the Kingdom of Mordred. It ensures that the populace remains fervently devoted to Morr and unwaveringly loyal to the king. Its presence is felt in every aspect of life, from the grandest ceremonies to the smallest daily rituals, making it an inseparable part of the kingdom's identity and a formidable power in its own right.

History

Morr- God of Blood has been worshipped since the times of Sieghardt- God Emperor, and even when he formed his empire, the Parsian tribe were worshippers of Khaine- God of Murder and Morr. Especially where the Mordvin people lived. These people saw themselves as the manifestation of Morr's bloodlust, but these people have long been under the rule of others, making their faith a small and isolated one. Since Astaroth, their were a handfull of secret temples and followers of Morr, but after the Black Rebellion, the number of worshippers went from a few dozen to entire kingdom.
