Plattveld

Platveld has always been at odds with Amhorsten over the grain and agricultural trade in The Merchant League. Platveld is an older city than Amhorsten, yet has never been as successful.
The city sits on the opposite end of the Suddenfelds as Amhorsten, although it does not sit on the coast. This is a distinct disadvantage as Amhorsten leverages a lot of sea trade which is quicker and cheaper than roads, which is the only avenue available for Platveld.

Defences

The city is so spread out over the Suddenfelds that the wall originally built is not extremely useful. The main protection Platveld has is its large city guard and militia.

Industry & Trade

Agriculture is the main industry in Platveld as it struggles to compete with Amhorsten over the exporting of grain and food.

History

The most notable time in Platveld's history was when the entire city collapsed into a sinkhole in 1273AC. The city was then rebuilt in its current location in 1299AC. Residents of Platveld have a long-standing belief that Amhorsten had something to do with the sinking of the original city through the use of magic.

Geography

Platveld spans over a large, scattered area of the south Suddenfelds. It is all low arable farmland. It's northeastern border places it at the edge of the Sudden Berkwoud.
