Rynnish
The Rynnish have had a long history of hating Brennermen and have warred with them over their lands on numerous occasions over the course of history. Still to this day, the Rynnish maraud and skirmish with Brennermen on their western borders. The Rynnish are master guerrillas. They do not fight in neat orderly armies, but in large skirmishing bands. Some say all Rynnish people are bandits and raiders. This isn’t the truth, although a majority of the Rynnish folk seen outside their borders tend to lean towards this stereotype.
Subcultures
Markmen
The large expanse of grassland and woods to the north ends of Rynnish territory is the home of the Markmen. This area, known as Brigandland on one side of the Lower Mark Fluss and der Frismark on the other side encompasses their lands. These Rynnish have some Frisian blood in their genes as well as some Brennermen. The area itself is always in contention and no settlements other than a few homesteads sit here. The Markmen are mostly a conglomeration of disparate individuals, some of outside cultures gathering together. The Markmen are usually outlaws and bandits. Their Rynnish cousins to the south don’t mind as the Markmen would rather raid and rob the Frisians and especially the Brennermen passing through.Low Rynnish
The Low Rynnish have a penchant for fighting everyone, including themselves. Oddly enough, they get along with the Falasians on their south borders. This is due to a long standing pact with the Falasians when they came to the Rynnish people’s aid during the Midnight War. The Low Rynnish however don’t even get along with their own northern neighbors. The Dragmen even erected a wall to persuade the Low Rynnish to stay out. The Low Rynnish are always seeking to prove themselves through a good fight or competition of some sort. Trust is hard to come by in Low Rynnish villages and towns and an outsider better be able to handle himself when wandering into Low Rynnish lands.Dragmen
The Dragmen consist of a single massive familial unit that, due to their founding father Draggyl Bear-Eater’s vow to always protect the areas around Dragysroad Pass from outsiders usually never leaves these lands. Dragmen, are usually thought to be insular because of this, but since the Dragysroad Pass is the only trade route through Rynnish Territory from Kingsland, interact with many different cultures on a regular basis. Dragmen are short, and look menacing, but are surprisingly polite for being Rynnish.Naming Traditions

Never, ever pass those rocks at the edge of our lands son. The Rynnish claim those woods and they will not hesitate to skin any Brennerman that passes those borders, child or not. Sure they have towns and villages like we do, but they’re all savages as far as I’m concerned.
