Darius Ambermane
King of Avandyr Darius Ambermane (a.k.a. The Chosen King, Defender of Avandyr, Shield of the Free)
He hails from the city of Angar on Myrr Archipelago far south of Avandyr.
He was just a modest trader shipping goods from his homeland to the capital. Coming to love the mainland and finding a woman to wed. He continued his trade but made Avandyr his home, supporting the people and protecting the city when called for. This gave him the reputation of one of the greatest warriors in the land.
Over the years he started to become tired of the corruption of House Cliffdane in Avandyr, getting the people into war after war for their own selfish benefit. He sought the support of the people and he rose to dethrone Byron Cliffdane.
He send word of his plans to all the corners of Ortheos in hope of support in the battles to come. He never imagined gaining the support that he did, 10.000 strong rallied to his banner from far and wide, from Thoosa, Altissa, Caelum and even from Ardor. This marked the first time that these countries fought side by side.
With his newly found army the remaining garrison of Avandyr was heavily outnumbered, and the battle was swift, House Cliffdane dead and some banished from the lands. After the battle he threw down his sword and left the castle, he planned to return to his modest way of live and his wife.
This is when he was greeted by the allied army chanting his name, chanting hail the king! This is when he realized his work was far from done, and he can’t leave the people to fall without a king. So for the people he took the crown and accepted the seat of sovereignty.
