Dalrath
The rapidly expanding new barony
The Barony known as Dalrath lies in the Northern Winter Lands, it was at one time just a simple village where skinners and hunters and fishers alike would come to trade and sell what they could off the land. The Dalrath Family founded the village and over time built it into a township, then a city, eventually becoming one of the largest cities in Bettigar. However, as the Old Dalrath family grew the city, they grew to be more reserved, and more peaceful, more subdued than their ancestors, the hunters and fishers and skinners who founded the settlement. Just beyond the borders of Dalrath there is a thick wood that leads into the frozen peaks called The Savage Lands; The savage lands are the last bit of untamed and completely unclaimed land within Andrim, full of beast and monster alike that makes the land near impossible to tame. That's why it traditionally was occupied by wild Orc barbarians, ogres, trolls; hill giants and even more fearsome tribes.
The Savage lands and the Orcs and other monstrous creatures that lie within constantly harass both the city walls as well as any couriers or merchants traveling in between; The lord Edmund Dalrath eventually began offering tribute with the Orc clans of the white hills to buy peace and even protection for them. And so the hardest people in Andrim began over the years to soften. Once Ajax took Andrim during the fall of the Omund, he destroyed most of the cities around Dalrath as they were little more than Temple towns; Some were even driven into living in the savage lands to escape Ajax's rule completely becoming a people of their own; known as the Wild Born over the last 50 years. In that time, the lord Edmund had a son about 20 years into the reign of Ajax; The young Kenway Dalrath. Occasionally the Lord's family traveled to Bettigar Keep to talk to the Baron, the lord's cousin about goings on in the north. During one of these journeys, the in the summer of young lord Kenway's 9th year their caravan was attacked and robbed, The Lord Dalrath's wife and son were taken, and after an extensive search in the Thornewood; believed to be dead. The Lord Dalrath rode back to his Keep, and over the years married a new wife, and had a few more children; 3 daughters.
12 years later, The young Kenway Dalrath reemerged and rode into the front gates of the now sprawling city of Dalrath with a small army; and after an extensive conversation; the details of which are hazy at best, the Lord Dalrath agreed to surrender the city and all its men to Kenway. Kenway Dalrath instituted a completely new system of law and rule in Dalrath and declared it a barony independent of Bettigar, and then began expending it into the Savage Lands. Over the next decade, the forces of Dalrath and the cities within the barony grew and grew; the near endless siege they partake on in the savage lands has given them much more land and made a very hard force of the men who serve Lord Kenway. Over time, they became essentially a standing army; the only one in all of Andrim, very clearly standing against the rule of Ajax.
Dalrath's geography varies from lush hills of green to the frozen tundra pass the Ice plains of the Dead Finger mountains; the Kraggaw Coast runs through the north, though there is only one port city in the barony, Algera's Port as most northern shores are lined with jagged rocks and small breakoffs from the Dead Fingers. Many new villages have been established within the years of sir Kenway's reign as baron but also features many small cities and villages that were once susbidaries of Bettigar, that have decided to pledge their banners to Lord Kenway.
Lorelai; a small fishing villages in the lush green hills of southern Dalrath, a home to many humans as well as halflings and a few odd balls, was part of bettigar until about 12 years ago when they joined Dalrath under the personal request of Lord Kenway
Bellowhark: A mountain town that was at one time home to dwarves of the Dead Fingers but now has been overtaken by Dalrathains. Known throughout the barony for its intensely strong booze served at The Pickaxe Bar
Kenway's Hallow: A village founded by Kenway Dalrath himself, he brought most of the Wildborn from the Savage Land here to settle into a new giant camp, though it is still mostly tents hutts and even small homes are starting to pop up as the village enters in 7th year of operation.
Snowpeak: A snowy frozen village near the peaks of the dead finger mountains, home to a hardened group of people who live in the harhest conditions in Andrim. Some say there is a group of spiritualist near the peaks who live close byt village and keep a monastic order of sorts.
