Soul

The Platinum Dragon

When The Eternal Korlo plunged his spear deep into the gut of the great dragon IO, he spilled their organs out into the cosmos; creating the layout and setting the stage for all life in our universe to begin, but unknown to Korlo, the planets IO had consumed in their life was not all that resided in their belly; Three eggs spilled out into the astral sea and and plunged in different directions; Lost to time and unnoticed and unknown to the Father Above All, the eggs incubated, and hatched; One of these eggs drifted through the astral sea, a timeless place, One of these eggs slipped through a rift in the Astral down into the depths of the Abyss below; and one was found during a hunt by Korlo's son and one of the Celestials; Tempest.
The lord of storms took the egg with him back through the gates of Celestia and presented it to his father, not wishing to deceive or keep secrets and instilling a sense of Honor and Honesty in the highly sensitive egg; When The Father Above All saw the egg, it is said he weeped with joy. He had lived with regret over killing the beautiful creature that IO was, and had seeked to resolve the conflict with them peacefully, instilling a sense of appreciation of life and beauty into the egg, as well as a sense of compassion and empathy. The egg would hatch in the valleys of Celestia and out of it would emerge a fully grown platinum plated dragon, with gold teeth and claws; Angels and Arkhons of Korlo's realm showered the emerging being with great fanfare to welcome them into the world; Soul had been born, and he was loved by all of Korlo's children.    Soul began to carve out his domain in the valleys below Mount Celestia, serving as a protector of the realm in an eternal thanks to Tempest and Korlo for saving him from the timelessness of the Astral Sea. Soul was a great companion to Tempest and it is said by some that the lord of storms even rode the back of the great dragon god during the celestial wars; though these reports are rumor and yokel's tall tales at best. They shared many of the same values, chivalry and honor, an intolerance for evil acts and many other ideals bonded them throughout all of time.
Unlike many of his kind, Soul had no desire to horde treasure or expensive or magical artifacts, though his dragonic desires did exist; he instead valued and horded wisdom, experience and knowledge above all other things, it is said that his palace in the lower plains of Mount Celestia contains the greatest library ever assembled, The Guliraden.
Soul is widely worshipped widely by metallic dragons, but he is also known to and worshipped by some other races, namely humans and other civilized peoples in Kaldore, where the Church of The Platinum Dragon is headquartered in the great city of Karasha; in Andrim he is less popular than the Andrimian gods known as the children of Korlo, but the Soulwing Sanctum was a stop for many pilgrims and paladins of Soul before the Reign of Ajax. The current status of the sanctum is largely unknown, it is said to be a ruin somewhere in the Barony of The Black Coast. Worshippers of Soul are known to carry a small platinum dragon's tooth as a their holy symbol; They are usually allied with the forces of Justice or Law, if not personally involved with such factions. Followers of Soul can also gain favor with their lord by taking action against evil acts, and more so if they can do so peacefully and without violence. Many worshippers of Tempest also pay tribute to the Platinum Dragon as thanks for his service to their lord, and you could often see shrines to him at temples of the Lord of Storms before the Reign of Ajax. Most non draconic followers of Soul learn of him from the teachings of a Metallic Dragon, and it is speculated these creatures may be the heads of his churches and using the guise of humanity to spread the words of their Platinum Lord.
Soul himself was said to take the form of a man and traverse the Prime Realm using realm shifting, a technique he learned form tempest; he would walk Orund in the form of a merry man accompanied by a small group of blue jays that sang to him has he strided along. The symbol of Soul is a shield with a dragon's platinum claw in the center, burning with a silver flame.
