27. "tying up loose ends"
General Summary
- The party discovered that the flagship of the Westgate navy; the Kisnorba, was blocking their exit from Briggan and Co. Ashtyn felt he could destroy the boat using shatter and so rowed out toward the Kisnorba with Bo.
- Ashtyn swam toward the Kisnorba and cast shatter, as he did, through channeling Hyrsam's power he allowed Hyrsam to speak to him from what appeared to be fey jail. Hyrsam told Ashtyn to go to the city of Talis in the Reaching wood and liberate the Satyr's and Hybsils. He suggested that this would allow Hyrsam to be promoted to a god.
- As Ashtyn and Bo rowed back toward the Fools Errand they were visited by Illmatar- who told Bo he should go with Ashtyn to liberate the satyrs, and his part in this would reveal itself.
- Upon returning to the fools errand the party sailed out into the ocean before encountering a helpful fisherman and his son; Jackson and Jackson Junior. The two helped sail the Fools Errrand toward Teziir and the party asked them to go ashore and return with union officials who could take the gold off the party's hands.
- While waiting for the union officials to return Ashtyn picked the lock of a particular cabinet and discovered a stack of letters exchanged between Mirabelle Briggan and various characters- Max Kilman , Commissioner Plitak and Abel Kadeen .
- In these letters it was revealed that Kilman had been planning a war with Marsember before his death with the help of a certain "Lord Hrothgar" of Turmish. Briggan had been commisioned to smooth over this transition with Abel Kadeen and promise him leadership of Proskur over Faruq Omata if he did not intervene.
- Similarly, Briggan would support the war effort in return for being made custodian of the gult. There were also a number of conversations between Commissioner Plitak and Briggan about installing Teziir as an economic substitute for Tide Town which had fallen under the control of the Unions.
- Whilst this was occurring Pansy was transported to another dimension briefly after touching a coin branded with Abengdon's face. Abengdon offered Pansy power and glory if he pledged himself to Abengdons cause. Pansy refused.
- Eventually, Clarice Hawkin- local union leader; arrived with a delegation to negotiate the recieving of the gold. She agreed to take the gold and use it for the Unions efforts in Teziir and to provide a crew of sailors to help sail the Fools Errand.
- The party went to sleep as the union delegation headed back to shore, set to return the following day.
