The Crimson Eclipse

The Crimson Eclipse is one of the primary crime syndicates in the City of Llyne. The group holds main control over magical contraband in the outer parts of the city, but has been faling flat to the Obsidian Brotherhood for the past few years. Their current mission is to weaken the Obsidian Brotherhood's market in the major parts of the city to broker their own deals with the more powerful, shady wizards to strengthen their trade.   Currently, the Eclipse has gotten lead of a powerful magic being shipped into Llyne from a mysterious source.

Overview

The Crimson Eclipse is one of the two notorious crime syndicates in the City of Llyne, known for its aggressive and unstructured approach to criminal operations. They hold a significant influence over the magical contraband trade in the outer city and have been a constant thorn in the side of the Obsidian Brotherhood, disrupting their trade routes and operations outside the city. Their current goal revolves around acquiring a mysterious box from the Elven Guard, believed to contain powerful magic that could elevate them above all their rivals. However, a mole from the Obsidian Brotherhood infiltrated their ranks and stole the mission notes.   The group's symbol is a Blood Moon.

Leadership

The Crimson Eclipse is led by a charismatic and ruthless tiefling named Kael Voss. Known for his fiery temper and unyielding ambition, Kael has a reputation for leading with an "in your face" style that reflects the organization's overall tactics. Under his leadership, the Crimson Eclipse has grown in power and influence, constantly challenging the dominance of the Obsidian Brotherhood.

History

The Crimson Eclipse was formed much later than the Obsidian Brotherhood, arising from a bitter schism within the Brotherhood itself. The founding members of the Crimson Eclipse were once loyal operatives of the Obsidian Brotherhood who became disillusioned with the organization's methods and leadership. This discontent eventually boiled over, leading to a dramatic falling out and the formation of a new, rival syndicate.

Founding Era

Disenchanted by the strategic and covert methods of the Brotherhood, the ex-members who founded the Crimson Eclipse sought a more direct and aggressive approach to their criminal activities. They believed that power and respect could only be earned through bold actions and visible strength. The Crimson Eclipse was born out of this desire for a more confrontational and unrestrained form of leadership.

Establishing Power

The early days of the Crimson Eclipse were marked by fierce conflict with the Obsidian Brotherhood. The new syndicate quickly made a name for itself through audacious raids and brutal attacks on the Brotherhood's operations. Their willingness to engage in open combat and their lack of a rigid hierarchy made them a formidable and unpredictable adversary.

Modern Era

In the modern era, the Crimson Eclipse continues to thrive on its aggressive and confrontational approach. They have become experts at disrupting the Brotherhood's trade routes and smuggling operations, particularly in the outskirts of the city. Their current goal is to acquire a mysterious box from the Elven Guard, a quest that promises to tip the balance of power in their favor.

Key Operations

Magical Contraband

The Crimson Eclipse controls the majority of the magical contraband trade in the outer city. They deal in illegal magical items, potions, and spell components, supplying those who seek power outside the law's reach. Their control over this market has been a major point of contention with the Obsidian Brotherhood.

Trade Route Disruptions

One of the Crimson Eclipse's primary tactics has been to disrupt the Brotherhood's trade routes outside the city. They employ ambushes, sabotage, and direct assaults to intercept and steal goods, significantly impacting the Brotherhood's operations and profits.

Elven Guard Heist

Recently, the Crimson Eclipse has set their sights on a mysterious box held by the Elven Guard. A cloaked woman provided them with information about this box, claiming it contains a powerful magic that could make the Eclipse invincible. This lead has become their central focus, as acquiring the box could shift the balance of power in their favor.

Accusations and Conflict

The Obsidian Brotherhood has accused the Crimson Eclipse of orchestrating the disappearance of their leader, Odo Parrish. This accusation has further fueled the animosity between the two syndicates, leading to increased violence and conflict. The Eclipse, however, denies any involvement, viewing the accusation as a distraction from their own goals.

Culture

The culture of the Crimson Eclipse is one of boldness and bravery. Members are encouraged to take risks and pursue their goals with aggressive determination. Loyalty is earned through acts of valor and success in the field, rather than through strict adherence to a hierarchical structure.
