Durbar

The nation of Durbar was founded during the early years of the Dawn War. Humans were originally its highest populace, but in the last few hundred years races of all sorts have moved in to its welcoming culture and its historical past. The prime deity known as Erathis once had a city flying above the landscape, known as 'Tumholde', which stood as a beacon to the people living in the vibrant landscape beneath it. During the Dawn War however, the city was destroyed, exploding and raining down across the nation below. In the years that followed the soil and earth lost its willingness to thrive, turning into the dead lanscape much of it is encompassed in now. Pockets of life can be found along most of the rivers, which many cities are founded upon. The vast sands now are home to a variety of vicious Beasts, treasure hunters, thieves guilds and orc tribes. Remnants of its past can be found still, and many explorers set up expeditions into its wilds to find artifacts or information of a time lost to the sands. The current capital city of the nation is Gul-Dratum, a metropolis built on trade, exports are usually minerals from the earth. Strip mines line most of the mountains, pulling whatever rare metals and gems can be found in their interiors. Nations in the past have underestimated Durbar, expecting the land to be easy to conquer, but the sands have built the people of this nation into a powerful fighting force. The militia for the nation is known as The Crimson Vanguard.   On the eastern end of Durbar, the land is more capable of sustaining life, swamps and savannahs spread across its plains. The occasional storms in these locations help keep life going, but many have found a means of tapping into the fresh water in the aquifers that lay beneath its sandy expanse.
