Beorven Mountains

The Beorven mountain range is a majestic and imposing geographical feature that stretches across a vast and expanse of rugged terrain, located in the heart of Ostradin. It is a place of immense natural beauty, formidable strength, rich cultural significance and serving as the home of the entire recognised Dwarven kingdom. This mountain range is a place where the Dwarven clans have forged thier civilization for centuries, with each clan inhabiting different sections of the mountains, maintaining their distinct cultures and contributing to the overall diversity of this remarkable region.  

Dwarven Clans:

  The Beorven mountain range is home to a toal of 11 dwarven clans, each with its own unique history, traditions and way of life. These clans have carved out their territories within the mountains, creating a complex network of interconnected settlements, fortresses and cities. Some of the most prominent clans include Durgrimst Ingetium, known for their legendary blacksmithing skills and they are also the current rulers of the dwarven kingdom, Durgrimst Nagra who are renowned for their unequalled skill at rearing and training the colossal wild boars known as Nagra and also Durgrimst Ragni Heffryn who are known for their outstanding shipwrights and are charged with the maintence of the River Ragni trade route.  

Settlements & Cities:

  Each dwarven clan has multiple settlements scattered throughout the Beorven mountain range. These settlements range from small mining outposts to thriving underground cities carved deep into the heart of the mountains. The capital city of each clan is a testament to their craftsmanship, with grand halls, intricate stone carvings and impressive forges.   The capital city of the entire dwarven kingdom where King Hrothgar resides is located in a central valley surrounded by the most massive peaks in the range. This grand city known simply as Farthen Dur is a marvel of dwarven engineering and arcitecture. It boasts sprawling underground districts, intricate tunnels and a central palace where the king's throne resides. Farthen Dur serves as the political and cultural heart of the dwarven kingdom, where representatives from all 11 clans gather to make important decisions and celbrate their shared heritage.  

Culture & Traditions:

  Dwarven culture in the Beorven mountains is deeply rooted in craftsmanship, honour and the strong sense of clan identity.The dwarves are renowned for their mastery of metalwork, stonemasonry and gemcraft. These skills are passed down from generation to generation. They celerbrate their heritage through elaborate festivals, storytelling and the sharing of epic sagas that recount the heroic deeds of their ancestors.   The dwarven clans maintain a strong sense of community and unity, working together to defend their kingdom against external threats while also ensuring the prosperity of their individual clans. The Beorven mountains is not just a homeland for the dwarves, it is a symbol of their resilience, determination and unwavering loyalty to their clans and their king.   The Beorven mountain range is a breathtaking and formidable location that houses the entire recognised dwarven kingdom. Geography

The Beorven mountain range is an expansive collection of towering peaks, deep valleys and intricate cave systems. It spans across hundreds of miles creating a natural barrier that seperates the dwarven kingdom from the outside world. The mountains are compossed of rugged, granite like rock formations, with some areas covered in dense coniferous forests that provide a rich source of timber for the dwarves.   One of the most notable natural features of the Beorven mountain range is the mighty River Ragni. This massive watercourse originates from a pristine glacial lake high in the mountains and flows through the entire range. The river's crystal clear waters are not only a vital source of freshwater for the dwarven clans but also serve as a major trade route for transporting goods to and from their settlements. The River Ragni is flanked by towering cliffs and dense forests, making it a truly picturesque and strategic waterway.
