Sharktooth Islands

The Sharktooth Islands are a triangular archipelago that stretches south of the western continent. There is one large island near the southern end of the archipelago, Two dozen medium-sized islands, and a couple hundred small islands. The seas around the islands are azure blue, shallow, and somewhat barren of life. The fishing in these waters is mediocre. In addition, the waters have a myriad of shoals and reefs that make sailing difficult.
Most of the islands are uninhabited. Almost the entire population of the archipelago lives on the largest island.
The climate of the islands is tropical. Most of the coasts are mangrove forests, with rare beaches or rocky coasts in between.
The largest island is called Sibuyan. It is a mountainous volcanic island.
The modern history of the islands began with the colonization from the Azure Kingdom . Prior to this, there were a small number of scattered settlements around the islands. There is little record remaining of these settlements. About -200 PU, the high priest of Katrin  in the Azure Kingdom, sponsored the settlement of Blackstone Island. There was considerable effort to recruit settlers. Thousands moved to the island over several decades. The capital and main port, Zentalo, was built.
About -150 PU The church of Katrin and the Azure Kingdom lost interest in the colonization effort and stopped funding new settlers. The Azure Court continued to maintain a governor and small garrison at Zentalo.
About -50 PU a major earthquake destroyed Zentalo. The Azure Kingdom decided against rebuilding the port and abandoned the colony.
