Tempus

Tempus is the god of war, victory, and courage. He is a member of The Ennead, and he has two primary aspects:

• The Lord of Battles is a force concerned with honor in combat. He forbids cowardice, and encourages armed combat and war to resolve disputes.
• The Foehammer represents war as a force to be respected—one capable of making, unmaking, and remaking entire civilizations.

Description

Tempus is a fickle, chaotic god, and he awards his favor without predictability or apparent reason. He is also commonly associated with gluttony and excess, said to have a loud personality.
In his avatar form and physical manifestations, he appears as an extremely tall man in plate mail, face completely obscured by a war helm.

Symbols

Tempus' primary symbol is an upright flaming sword. However, he is also associated with beasts of war, such as warhorses and lions.

Worshippers

Nearly all soldiers and war clerics on the continent of Osun are members of the Church of Tempus.
