Lynst's Promise

The last shard of reality was obliterated in the final clash between the defiant chaos of existence and the tyrannical certainty of the void. The universe had reverted to darkness for the umpteenth time, yet it is impossible for either force to win. The battle between chaos and law can never end because chaos does not abide by the rules of absolute law. Everything is about to go dark; it will be that way until it’s not. This will take an eternity and yet it will happen instantly. The void and the dawn have been in this cycle for as long as I can remember and the only thing keeping them going is their pride. The void wants everyone to forget while the dawn wants you to remember.
Something changed; it was insignificant, but something definitely changed. Then it went back to nothing; again, something changed. This time the Blue Soul, Curiosity, was revived; that was enough to set the world into motion; to balance this change the Red Soul, Doubt, appeared; the universe was torn between prospering and returning to nothingness. Curiosity and Doubt wished to shape the universe in different directions. In order to assist each soul in influencing the world, both souls created six gods. Curiosity created good; Doubt created evil. Curiosity wished to create a world that was interesting; Doubt wished to tear apart whatever Curiosity created. These gods differed from the souls in one thing, free will. The souls began to realize they were not alone in this universe. The White Soul, Free Will, was brought back from the void. This marked the point in time that defined the path of the universe. Both souls would attempt to convince the White Soul to join them.
With this the void lunged for the White Soul dragging it back into the abyss in an attempt to silence Free Will. As this occurred Curiosity came to release Free Will from the void’s clutches. Doubt took this opportunity to strike down Curiosity. Free Will escaped and dashed into the darkness illuminating countless paths. As it was fleeing, the light from the White Soul began to fade. The moment its light was about to fade, the White Soul flickered one last time as a flash of light enveloped the whole void. For an instant the mechanisms behind the universe were revealed. The six gods who set everything into motion appeared in the light which only allows for truth. At this reveal Curiosity’s flame was rekindled. The universe was propelled towards change. Free Will had chosen to side with Curiosity.
The world sprang into exist with prosperity; this is the part of the cycle where Curiosity is on the rise. Mortals must not forget about the inevitable return to the Void.
