Personal history

The circumstances of her birth gave Lin no chance at a normal childhood. She grew up in one of the smaller hatcheries of Yadaka, and was raised with a young Wyrmling named Tianjing (Skymind). The Wyrmling grew faster than Lin and before she could walk Tianjing would carry Lin around on her back. Word quickly spread of the Bronze Dragon who was raising a human child and soon The Dawn's Light were assigned as direct escort to Shenshe while she was in the hatchery in order to keep her from being disturbed.
When Lin got old enough, and with the permission of Shenshe, she and Tianjing were put through Exemplar training. They excelled in the classes, surpassing the other students by leaps and bounds. By the time she was fifteen she and Tianjing believed they were ready for the Exemplar trials, however they were refused special treatment. Three more years they waited and trained and, on the day of her 18th birthday, they took the trials and passed with record time.
Celebrations were short lived however. Lin and Tianjing were assigned to The Dawn's Wings and discovered that their talent counted for very little out in the wilds. Fancy flying only went so far and so the two of them buckled down and began to work hard to prove that they were more than just a fluke.
