Personal history
Emir was born to a poor farming family in Prathia hold. In order to help support his family, Emir enlisted in the Prathian military when he was 18. Four years later the Accords of Manoa were signed. Though Emir kept his military job he was posted as a guard in a small village near his family farm. This turned out to be a relief for his family who had been worried about his involvement in the dangerous border disputes.
Instead of fighting on front lines, Emir spend the rest of his life doing small time protection of the village. He helped secure the buildings, and with some assistance from locals, he ended up making the village a much safer place.
Emir retired from the Prathian military when he injured his knee during a bandit attack. He was nearly sixty eight and was sent off with much celebration. He moved to Gravewood hold and settled in the small town of Basin where he met his partner Clara, a Firbolg. A year later they welcomed a daughter into the world, who they named Maria. Clara, being a more traditional Firbolg (as many of the ones living near Basin are) continued her nomadic lifestyle, occasionally dropping by to see Emir and Maria, but otherwise Maria was raised by Emir and the other members of Basin.
Emir's skills and experience quickly drew others to him. By the time the previous town elder had passed away Emir had taken their place. Now though, with the world changing and Emir getting closer to the end of his life, he has been looking for someone to take over leadership of Basin and make sure the town is not left behind while the rest of the world moves on.
