Salonius the Gray
As worthy as Salonius the Great was, his successor is not. There is no relation between the two, simply the popularity of one great ruler leading to a proliferation of babies being named after him.
They are most immediately distinguished by the appellation. The current Salonius uses the self-styled term “the Gray”, most likely as an attempt to draw similarities in name and play up his heritage a descendant of a long-standing family of magicians. The Gordish family is a well-respected group of people. This particular scion is not worthy of such dignity. He is notorious for his whining, both in tone and word choice. Since he has assumed leadership of Peligora , crime and tax rates have skyrocketed. One of my favorite quotations about him calls him “more like a petulant child than a national leader.”
Really, the differences are quite obvious and thus which actions are whose are easily distinguishable. Salonius the Great put his country first and did his utmost to raise up its people. Salonius the Gray seems determined to win fame for himself, at any cost, and all the while believing that just by sharing a name it will accord him the respect of his predecessor.
