Terb

Terb

Terb is one of the many gods of the country Varios, and is fairly active when it comes to his presence being felt. This is probably in part because his monks (gender neutral in this case, despite typically being used for male mendicants) are of a more aggressive variety of insane.

Divine Domains

Terb is responsible for:
  • Pathways
  • Throwing stars
  • Pickles
  • Pygmy marmosets
  • The color blue (specifically navy, although all shades fall under his purvey)

Holy Books & Codes

The Manifesto of Terb is considered to be the definitive document concerning Terb and his influences upon the world.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Terb is almost never seen without his pygmy marmoset companion, whose name is said to be Zirmaketh. (This is unconfirmed but widely believed among followers of Terb)

Tenets of Faith

The followers of Terb believe very strongly in the sacredness of his chosen divine spheres. Terb has encouraged this, to a certain extent. By his own public statements, they have grossly misinterpreted his words, as he did not intend for his followers to make these things completely inaccessible to others. He came down and attempted to convince them to allow others to use these things. Especially pickles, since Varios is not known for its widespread usage of refrigeration technology.   The followers, in turn, have chosen to interpret this as meaning that all must wear the color blue or else suffer the wrath of the pygmy marmoset throwing star corps. At least they gave in on the point of the pickles.   It is one of Terb's strengths as a deity that he allows and even encourages his followers to argue with him on points of ecumenical law, including but not limited to the things he himself has said over the years. However, it has not made for particularly compliant worshipers.   At some point during the debates, Terb was recorded as throwing his hands in the air and stating,
"Fine. If you want to get in a million holy wars, you can do that. But don't start whining to me if someone else smites you for it."
So they don't. They generally do the smiting, on behalf of Terb, who they now believe is profoundly lazy and in need of a good kick to the backside (but somehow still worthy of worship).

Holidays

Terb avoids holidays. It's almost as if he is trying to avoid his followers. They follow him regardless.
